E. Sherlene Pyle Wade
E. Sherlene Pyle Wade, 78, of Mt. Morris, died at 10:55 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2011, in her home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Saturday, March 25, 1933, in Blacksville, W.Va., a daughter of the late William F. and Esther Pearl Pyle.
Mrs. Wade was a member of Mt. Morris Gospel Tabernacle, Assembly of God.
She was community-minded and very patriotic. She was always active in the Republican Party and was past Republican committeewoman of Perry Township. She was a charter member of Mason-Dixon Park and a member of James T. Maxon American Legion auxiliary.
Mrs. Wade was a 1951 graduate of Clay-Battelle High School and a former member of Clay-Battelle Alumni Association. She was past president of Parents Teachers Together and Waynesburg Central High School band boosters.
She was founder of the Mt. Morris Christmas parade, more than 35 years ago. Her passion was organizing many class and family reunions.
Mrs. Wade was on the nursing staff at West Virginia University Hospital and later Ruby Memorial Hospital for 15 years. She also was a correspondent for the Greene County Messenger for several years and was a homemaker.
On May 23, 1951, she married Marion J. Wade, who survives. They just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Also surviving are a daughter and her husband, Bridget Ann and Greg Montgomery of Mt. Morris; a grandson; a brother, Donald R. Pyle of Mt. Morris; a nephew; and two great-nephews.
