Power pulling action returns to fair

Over the past five years, a staple of the Greene County Fair has been the power pulling events by Power Pulling Productions. The events proudly returns to the fair this year on two separate evenings.

The company, which operates out of New Brighton, Pa., joined with the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League to become the first regional sanctioning group of power pulling in Western Pennsylvania.

This year’s classes include Classic Super Stock Tractors; Street Legal – 6,300; 4X4 – 7,500; and Street Diesel 4X4 – 8,000.

Power Pulling Productions has available classes in Hot Rod Semis, Super Stock 4×4 trucks, Limited Pro/Super Farm Tractors, Super/Pro Tractors, Diesel Pick-Ups and Gas Pick-ups. According to the website, Power Pulling Productions will also be running pulls at the Butler Farm Show in Butler, Pa., and both Washington and Westmoreland County Fairs, to name a few events.

The trucks will pull on Tuesday, August 9 at 7 p.m. with classes including Classic Super Stock, 7,500 Open 4×4, 6,200 Open Street Legal 4×4 and 8,000 Open Street Diesel 4×4.

Trucks and tractors will begin their pulls on Saturday, August 13 at 6:30 p.m. including Super Stock 4×4, Limited Pro/Super Farm, 20,000 Open Street Semi’s and Pro Street Diesel 4×4.

The Tuesday event is sponsored by Hawg Hauling, and the Saturday event is sponsored by Bortz Chevrolet Subaru.
