Bowlby Library receives CFGC grant
Eva K. Bowlby Public Library recently received a $1,250 grant from the Forever Greene Fund through The Community Foundation of Greene County.
Grant funds will be used for the Family Literacy Department’s 2011 summer programming entitled “One World-Many Students.” This program will provide free learning activities, hands-on projects, and educational games for local residents in grades kindergarten through 12 to promote the retention of essential math, science, and social studies skills during summer break.
Family Literacy’s “One World-Many Students” summer program is being offered in coordination with the annual summer reading program sponsored by Bowlby’s Children’s Department.
When combined, these two programs will provide area youth with an entire day of “camp-style” learning opportunities in a safe and fun atmosphere.
Lunch will be provided on site on program days by Feeding America through the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.
