Greensboro Market open through October

2 min read

The Greensboro Market, which can be found rain or shine at the gazebo in the heart of Greensboro, is open on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. through the end of October.

The market has the benefits of the nearby Monongahela River and the restored historical sites, which add to the charm of the Greensboro market. The community has worked diligently to preserve the character of the historic town while enhancing the neighborly atmosphere.

?The Market offers fresh produce from local growers, baked goods, homemade herbal skincare, and much more.

On Aug. 13 the market featured artist Prem Trollope, who has traveled from London, England to visit friends in Waynesburg and spent the day at the market sharing her love for art and education. In London, she teaches elementary school students. Her talents with crafts and children alike were apparent in the children’s ready participation with the art project. With Trollope, the children spent the morning creating colorful masks with assorted art supplies. Inadvertently she introduced the children to British culture.

Trollope will return to the Farmers’ Market on Saturday, Aug. 20 with another children’s art project and Amy Randolph will be performing live folk music.

The Greensboro Farmer’s market is sponsored in part by a Seed Award Grant of the Sprout Foundation.
