MONTHLY MEETING – The “Prime Time” monthly meeting will be held at the Nazarene Fellowship Hall on Friday, Aug. 26. Covered dish dinner begins at 6 p.m. and Betty Martin, chalk artist from Monongahela, will entertain with free presentations at 7 p.m. All are welcome.

BENEFIT RIDE – Come join St. Jude Ambassador Colby Simkovic and the American Legion Riders Waynesburg Post 330 as they support the 5th annual St. Jude Ride on Saturday, Aug. 27 at the Greene County Fairgrounds. The event will offer a Bikeathon for children of all ages at 10 a.m.(entry fee is $20 minimum in pledges) and a motorcycle run for adults (registration from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., ride starts at 12:30 p.m. – entry is $20 per bike).All proceeds benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. CAR SHOW – The 3rd annual Carmichaels VFW Car Show will be held at the Carmichaels VFW Post # 3491 on Aug. 27 from 10 to 3 p.m. There is a $10 fee per car to register. All proceeds from this event will benefit the Carmichaels VFW Building Fund. The show will also feature vendors, food, music and a Chinese auction. Trophies will be awarded. FRONTIER FESTIVAL – The 29th annual Mason-Dixon Frontier Festival will be held on Aug. 27 and 28 from 10 a.m. till 6 p.m. Free admission. Sign up for door prizes at the Mason-Dixon booth. Crafts, music, pre-1840 living history encampment, 1860-1900 encampment, antique engines and cars, blacksmith demonstration, civil war encampment and much more. Golf cart shuttle available. Take 1-79 to exit 1, Mt. Morris, to Creek Rd. 1/2-mile to Mason-Dixon Park in Pa. PUBLIC MEETING – The Greene County Integrated Children’s Service (ICSP) committee will present its 2012-2013 ICSP plan at a public meeting in the Fort Jackson Building on South Washington Street at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 1. The plan identifies goals, strategies and outcomes the county will use to support healthy development of children and an integrated approach to meet their needs. The meeting will be held in the county Human Service Department’s conference room on the third floor.

YARD SALE – Waynesburg Senior Center will hold a 2-day yard sale on Sept. 1 and Sept. 2 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. both days. There will be furniture and many other items.

YARD SALE – The annual Town-Wide Yard Sale will be held in Rogersville on Saturday, Sept. 3 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Center Twp VFD Auxiliary will sell food and drinks beginning at 10 a.m. Table space available in fire hall parking lot at $5 per table. POOL PARTY – The Humane Society of Greene County is holding its annual “Dog Gone Pool Party” at Mon View Park Pool in Greensboro on Sunday, Sept. 4 from 4 to 6 p.m. The event will feature prizes and an award ceremony to include “Best Swimsuit” and “Best in Pool.” Dogs should be up-to-date on vaccinations and be on a leash. BUS TRIP – St. Hugh’s Senior Activity Group is sponsoring a bus trip to Seven Springs on Wednesday, Sept. 21. Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. and a Polynesian fire show will begin at 1 p.m. There is a cost per person, which includes bus transportation, lunch show, tax and gratuity. CASH BASH – The Humane Society of Greene County will hold a Cash Bash fundraiser to benefit the Humane Society on Sunday, Sept. 25 from 1 to 7 p.m. at the Greene County Fairgrounds. Tickets are $20 each and are available for sale at the shelter. You don’t have to be present to win and you can win more than once. Food will be available.
