Mary Joe Ormiston Kerr
Mary Joe Ormiston Kerr of Brave went home to be with the Lord Friday, August 19, 2011, in her home, following a 10-year battle with cancer.
Her beloved husband, Kenneth R. (Jim) Kerr, is deceased.
Mrs. Kerr was born February 21, 1932, in Brave, the only child of the late Everette (Sonny) and Lula B. Parsons Ormiston.
She was a 1950 graduate of Margaret Bell Miller School in Waynesburg and a 1988 graduate of Penn Commercial Business School.
Mrs. Kerr worked for Greenway Manufacturing Co. for 31 years. She also was employed by Elder-Beerman in Morgantown, W.Va., where she was service desk manager for 13 years, worked part time for Blacksville (W.Va.) D-Mart and baby-sat her youngest great-grandchild, Chloe.
She leaves behind a good friend of the family, Kenneth (Himey) Iams.
Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are a son, Kenneth Earl Kerr, and a granddaughter, Moore.
Surviving are her children, H. James (Jimmy) Kerr of Meyersdale, Phillip and Janet Kerr of Brave and Kimberly and Ronald (Dick) Moore of Spraggs; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two first cousins; and several nieces and nephews.
