Shirlee Headlee Milliken, 79, formerly of Crago Avenue, Waynesburg, died at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2011, in Rolling Meadows Nursing Home in Waynesburg.

She was born Sunday, May 22, 1932, in Waynesburg, a daughter of the late Joseph L. Headlee and Frankie Boor Headlee.

Mrs. Milliken spent her early life in Greensburg and spent most of her life in Waynesburg and Clearwater, Fla.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Waynesburg, where she was a member of Harmony Sunday School Class. She was also a member of Emerald Chapter Order of the Eastern Star 135.

Mrs. Milliken was a 1950 graduate of Waynesburg High School and Penn Commercial College in 1951. She was a former trustee of Bowlby Public Library. She had worked at the former Berkowitz Co. in Waynesburg and the Department of the Army in Salzburg, Austria, and was a homemaker. She was the owner and operator of the former Creative Child Care Pre-school in Waynesburg for several years.

Her husband, Samuel A. Milliken, whom she married April 25, 1953, died December 8, 2008.

Surviving are two daughters, Pamela A. Milliken of Fogelsville and Beck (Steve) Raber of Waynesburg; a son, J.K. (Kris) Milliken of Medina, Ohio; six grandchildren; a sister, Karen (Ed) Bogucki of Carmichaels; a brother, Joseph L. (Dolores) Headlee II of Manassas, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased is a daughter, Susan Milliken.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 1100 Liberty Avenue, Suite E-201, Pittsburgh, PA 15222-4256.
