Charles J. Balazick, 82, of Amity, formerly of Jefferson, died Sunday, December 11, 2011, in Donnell House, Washington.

Mr. Balazick was born February 2, 1929, in Jefferson, son of the late Charles and Helen Gleba Balazick.

On March 5, 1952, he married Joan Moravitz Balazick, who survives.

Also surviving are four sons, Jeffrey (Donna), Charles and Louis, all of Jefferson, and Joseph (Billie Jo) of Amity; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Edith Bunting, Theresa Albert, Rose Iwanski and Lois Ireton.

A son, Christopher, is deceased.

Mr. Balazick served in the U.S. Army in the late 1940s.

He operated a road construction business and then started CJ and L Coal Co.
