William A. Davis
William A. Davis, 69, of Waynesburg, died at 1:30 p.m. Monday, December 12, 2011, in Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg.
He was born Monday, January 26, 1942, in Jefferson, son of the late William M. and Grace A. Haskins Davis.
Mr. Davis was a member of Carmichaels Moose Lodge, the Citizens Club of Crucible and United Mine Workers.
He enjoyed riding his four-wheeler and fishing.
Mr. Davis worked as a coal miner who, after 21 years, retired from the former Clyde Coal Mine in Fredericktown.
Surviving are his wife, Emma Abbott Davis, whom he married June 2, 1962; two daughters and their husbands, Kimberly (Larry) Davis Shumar of Grindstone and Billie (Greg) Davis Grim of Carmichaels; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sondra Thomas and Sally J. Piper, both of Waynesburg; two brothers, Clinton E. Davis and Randy S. Davis, both of Waynesburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a sister, Ellen Davis, who died in infancy, and a brother, Terry Davis.
