Police probe robbery in Greene County

By Heraldstandard.Com 1 min read

State police are investigating after an unidentified man hopped a counter at a Greene County convenience store, threatened a clerk with a crowbar and stole more than $100 early Wednesday.

Trooper Samuel E. Spino said the incident occurred at 5:40 a.m. at the BFS foods store on Route 21 in Franklin Township.

Spino said the suspect entered the store and immediately walked into a bathroom at the rear of the store.

The suspect then ran from the bathroom and leaped over the counter where he confronted the cashier with a small crowbar.

Spino said that the man demanded money from the cashier and, after receiving $102, fled the store on foot eastbound on Route 21.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-627-6151.
