Lions Club selects October students of the month
Waynesburg Central High School seniors Bethany Orndoff and Rick Kalsey have been selected as Waynesburg Lions Club’s students of the month for October.
Orndoff, daughter of Scott and Beverly Orndoff of Waynesburg, maintains a 4.0 grade-point average.
She is a member and treasurer of the National Honor Society, a member of the lettermen club, library service and SADD and is a three-year letterman on the varsity softball team.
Orndoff received the Joseph Ayersman American History Award and highest honors in math, English, Spanish and history.
She is a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, where she volunteers at the soup kitchen.
She also volunteers for the high school’s boys basketball team concession stand and is an umpire for youth softball.
Orndoff plans to attend Waynesburg University and major in mathematics and secondary education.
Kalsey, son of Rick and Melissa Kalsey of Waynesburg, maintains a 3.9 grade-point average.
He is a member of the baseball team, golf team, lettermen club, FFA and library service.
He enjoys sports, hunting and fishing and plans to attend a college or university for engineering.
