Carmichaels Senior awarded Jim Moore Scholarship
Christian Berardi has been awarded the 2011 Jim Moore Memorial Scholarship. He is the son of Hugo and Melodie Berardi of Carmichaels and is a 2011 graduate of Carmichaels Area Jr.-Sr. High School, where he graduated seventh in his class.
Berardi’s community activities include volunteering at the food bank, Rolling Meadows and the Red Cross blood drives at the high school. His high school activities include: member of the National Honor Society, golf and basketball teams, drama club and chorus. He recently became a Pennsylvania State certified EMT and hopes to work part-time with local emergency service company while attending college.
?Berardi will attend Waynesburg University this fall where he will major in nursing. His long-term career objective is to be a nurse anesthetist.
He has earned Waynesburg University’s A.B. Miller Scholarship, the Allegheny Power Scholarship and the Greene County Memorial Hospital Foundation Scholarship.
The Jim Moore Memorial Scholarship, in honor of the late local newspaperman, is given annually to a Greene County scholar/athlete. The scholarship is funded by the Jim Moore Foundation Charity Golf Tournament.
