Myrtle Virginia Thomas, 77, a lifelong Waynesburg resident, died at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2011, in Golden Living Center, Waynesburg.

She was born Friday, December 1, 1933, in Waynesburg, a daughter of the late Dora Anderson.

She was a member of Fairall United Methodist Church, Waynesburg, and enjoyed doing crafts.

She worked as a cook at Waynesburg College for 30 years, retiring in 1993.

Surviving are two daughters and their husbands, Juanita Thomas Nolte and Fred of Pittsburgh and Barbara Ann Joseph and Rick of Waynesburg; a son and his wife, Wayne Lynn Thomas and Sharon of Yardley; six grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Alfreda Ward of Waynesburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are two sisters, Ethel Koch and Florence Heberline; and a brother, Robert Edward Anderson.
