RAIN DAY – On Friday, July 29, downtown Waynesburg will be the site for the 137th annual Rain Day Celebration. Come enjoy visiting old friends, listening to music, watching the competitions and eating some delicious festival food. This event is sponsored by the Waynesburg Borough Special Events Commission. SCHOOL REUNION – The Richhill High School reunion will be held on Saturday, July 30 in the Richhill Twp. Firehall in Wind Ridge. Dinner will be at 12 p.m. Please bring a covered dish.
BENEFIT EVENT – A pancake breakfast and car wash will be held on Saturday, Aug. 6 from 7-11 a.m. at the Rogersville Fire Hall. The event will benefit Center Township VFD and Auxiliary. Call 724-499-5385 for additional info.
COUNTY FAIR – The annual Greene County Agricultural Fair will be held Aug. 7-13 at the Greene County Fairgrounds. This week-long fair is an opportunity for local farmers, 4H participants and community members to display their livestock, crafts, baked goods, needlework, canned goods and homegrown produce in various competitions. DRIVING CLASSES – Seniors for Safe Driving will present a safety program Aug. 8 and 9 for drivers aged 55 and older. This program will take place at the Fox Ford Mercury Dealership on High Street in Waynesburg. The program is certified by the Pa. Dept. of Transportation. COAL SHOW – The 58th Annual Bituminous Coal Show will take place in Carmichaels Aug. 20-27. This week-long celebration honors King Coal and our regional heritage. There will be a wide variety of events and activities. For more info, check out their website at http://www.kingcoalshow.org.
FRONTIER FESTIVAL – The 29th annual Mason-Dixon Frontier Festival will be held on Aug. 27 and 28 from 10 a.m. till 6 p.m. Free admission. Sign up for door prizes at the Mason-Dixon booth. Crafts, music, pre-1840 living history encampment, 1860-1900 encampment, antique engines and cars, blacksmith demonstration, civil war encampment and much more. Golf cart shuttle available.
