Man charged
State police said Benjamin Arnold Kiger, 36, of Waynesburg was charged with public drunkenness following an incident at Southwest Regional Medical Center in Franklin Twp. at 6:53 p.m. June 8. Police said Kiger created a disturbance in the emergency room, yelling profanity at the hospital staff and refusing medical treatment.
Urns stolen
State police said six flower urns were stolen from grave sites at the Greene County Memorial Park in Morgan Twp. sometime between Sept. 1 and May 28.
Burglary reported
State police said sometime between 10 a.m. June 3 and 8 a.m. June 11 someone broke the windows of a vacant house on Bowlby Road in Wayne Twp., entered the house and damaged walls and a light fixture. The house is owned by Ruby Simpson of Harpers Ferry, W.Va., police said.
Operation Strikeforce
The Pa. State Police and its members are committed to ensuring that the highways of the state are safe for its citizens and for the motoring public. As part of this commitment, the members of Troop B – Waynesburg’s Patrol Unit is conducting a DUI sobriety checkpoint, known as Operation Strikeforce, now through June 20. The purpose of the checkpoint will be to detect and arrest individuals who are impaired by alcohol or drugs and are traveling on the highways throughout Greene County.
Items stolen
Brett Michael Dulaney of Waynesburg told state police that sometime between 5:30 and 8 p.m. June 3 someone entered his residence on Valley Farm Drive in Franklin Twp. and stole a videogame system and prescription medication.
Table destroyed
State police said sometime between 5 p.m. June 12 and 6 a.m. June 13 someone destroyed a wooden picnic table behind Dr. Pinelli’s office on Elm Drive in Franklin Twp.
Burglary reported
Sometime between 11 p.m. June 11 and 11 a.m. June 12 someone entered a shed near Nebo Ridge Road in Richhill Twp. and damaged a radio repeater. The shed is owned by owned by Consol Energy Inc. The investigation is ongoing.
Tailgate stolen
Andrew J. Sanchez of Ontario, Canada, told state police that someone stole the tailgate on his 201 Toyota Tacoma sometime between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. June 11, while the truck was parked at High Point Raceway in Mt. Morris. The tailgate’s value is estimated at $500, police said.
