William S. Freeman Jr.
William S. Freeman Jr. died Wednesday, June 8, 2011, in his home, with his family by his side.
He was from Oak Grove, Ala., and formerly of Carmichaels.
Mr. Freeman worked for U.S. Steel for more than 30 years at Maple Creek Mine and at Oak Grove Mine in Alabama.
He was a family man and enjoyed golf and gambling. He was a wonderful husband, dad and pappy and will be deeply missed by all who loved and knew him.
Surviving are his wife, Lois Freeman of Oak Grove, Ala., whom he married August 11, 1973; four daughters, Helen Freeman of Bessemer, Ala., April (Keith) Bowser of Carmichaels, Tabitha Freeman of Bessemer and Juanita (Greg) Jones of Bessemer; eight grandchildren; a brother, Larry Freeman of Mulga, Ala.; a sister, Starr Smalley of Scenery Hill; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Deceased are his parents, William S. Sr. and Maude Juanita Marshall Freeman, formerly of Scenery Hill.
