Harry L. Black, 66, of Waynesburg, loving husband, father, PaPa and friend, died at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 22, 2011, in Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg.

He was born Thursday, November 23, 1944, in Waynesburg, a son of the late Lindsey Alvie Black and Lucy Durbin Black.

Mr. Black was an active member of First Church of the Nazarene in Waynesburg, where he served on the church board and supported various ministries of the church.

He served four years with the U.S. Navy.

Mr. Black enjoyed working on the farm, planting his garden, riding his tractor and spending time with his grandchildren.

He worked various jobs until he started working for 30 years for Delphi Packard, where he did several different jobs and was a forklift operator when he retired.

Surviving is his wife, Patricia Rechedy Black, whom he married June 2, 1979.

Also surviving are a daughter and husband, Michele and Clark Jones of Niles, Ohio; two sons, David Black of Salem, Mass., and James and wife Megan Black of Kansas City, Mo.; eight grandchildren; a great-grandson; two sisters, Alberta Mason Sutherland of Waynesburg and Patricia Smitley of Mather; four brothers, John and George Black, both of Waynesburg, Charles and wife Brenda Black of Pittsburgh and Ralph Black of Waynesburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are a son, Harry Lee Black Jr., and two brothers, Alvie Black and James Black.
