State police said a vehicle driven by Billy J. Higgins, 70, of Washington was traveling on Rolling Meadows Road in Franklin Twp. at 4:48 p.m. Feb. 28 when he struck a guide rail, traveled across the road and impacted an embankment before returning to the road. Police said Higgins suffered moderate injuries in the crash and was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va. for treatment of injuries.

Pistols stolen

Alvin Loring of Greensboro told state police that sometime between 12 p.m. Feb. 24 and 2 p.m. Feb. 28 someone stole two pistols from his vehicle while it was parked at a location on Second Street in Greensboro. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact state police at 724-627-6151.

Theft reported

State police said that someone broke the rear door window of a car and stole a laptop computer from the backseat around 3 p.m. March 3 while the vehicle was parked at Mountain View Gardens in Franklin Twp. Police listed the victims as Brittany Valentine Stallman of Waynesburg and Timothy Brian Headlee of Carmichaels.

Man injured

State police said that Timothy R. Newill, 52, of Waynesburg sustained moderate injuries when he lost control of his car and it ultimately rolled onto its roof on Washington St. in Jefferson Twp. around 6 p.m. March 3.

Three arrested

State police said that William Ryan Cody Ringer and Mark Ethan Vavreck, both of Carmichaels, and Michelle Elizabeth Kelly of Crucible were all charged with possession of drug paraphernalia following an incident that occurred at the Greene Plaza parking lot in Franklin Twp. at 6:25 p.m. March 2.

Bank damaged

Three people were injured in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Route 88 and Route 2014 (Mapletown Road) in Monongahela Twp. at 3:45 p.m. March 5, state police said. Police said the accident occurred when a vehicle driven by Jessie L. Ealy, 19, of Nemacolin was traveling west on Route 2014 and failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection with Route 88 at Mapletown Crossroads. A vehicle driven by Diane G. Howard, 24, of Clarksville was traveling north on Route 88 and the two vehicles collided. After impact, Ealy’s vehicle struck a pillar on the drive-thru lane at Community Bank.

Ealy, a passenger in her vehicle, Paige Shubert, 16, and Howard, each suffered minor injuries. Ealy was cited for failing to stop for a stop sign, police said.

Report issued

State police in Waynesburg received reports of 695 incidents and made 54 arrests in February, according to the monthly statistics report from the station. The report includes 121 offenses reported, 120 founded offenses and 61 cleared offenses. Patrol activity included 48 crashes, no fatal crashes, seven hit and run crashes, 19 injuries, 16 driving under the influence of alcohol arrests, 339 traffic citations issued and 263 warnings issued.

Theft reported

State police said Dustin Allan Pfister, 26, of Victoria, Texas, reported that someone stole a home theater system from a utility trailer while it was parked at a construction site on Bobtown Road in Dunkard Twp. sometime between 12 p.m. March 1 and 7 a.m. March 2.

Sobriety detail

State police in Waynesburg conducted a roving DUI detail throughout Greene County on the evening of March 4, which resulted in five DUI arrests, 56 traffic citations and 62 written warnings.

Counterfeit bill reported

State police said the owners of Grama and Pappy’s Pizza in Bobtown reported that a customer used a counterfeit $20 bill to pay their tab on March 2. The investigation is ongoing.
