Church supper to be held Saturday

CHURCH SUPPER – Fairall United Methodist Church will host a buckwheat cake and sausage supper on Saturday, March 26, beginning at 5 p.m. The menu will include all you can eat buckwheat cakes, regular pancakes, whole hog sausage, applesauce and beverage. CALL FOR ARTISTS – All artists who reside in Greene County may enter the second annual juried art exhibit and sale (“Spring Beauty 2”) to be held at the Greene County Historical Society Museum May 1-20. The absolute deadline for registering work is April 9. Awards are given: $50 art gift certificates for first place in each category and $250 cash for Best in Show. The prospectus can be gotten at the Artisans shop or Our Glass shop in downtown Waynesburg, or at the museum, or by e-mail from Carol Randolph at mystudior@windstream.net or by calling 724-852-6363.

CASH BASH – Waynesburg Quarterback Club and Waynesburg Junior League will hold a Cash Bash at the Waynesburg VFW on Saturday, April 2 from 1 to 7 p.m. Proceeds will benefit Waynesburg football programs for students in grades 2-12. For more info or for tickets, call Angela Baker at 724-833-7035.

YARD SALE – An indoor yard sale will be held on Saturday, April 2 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Rogersville Fire Hall. Table space is available for $10. Donations of “sellable” items will be accepted. SCHOOL REGISTRATION – Children who are 5 years of age prior to Sept. 1, 2011, are eligible to attend kindergarten in the West Greene School District. Call 724-428-3592 if they are to attend Graysville or 724-447-2331 if they are to attend Springhill-Freeport.

SENIOR TRIP – The Waynesburg Senior Center is planning a bus trip to Branson, Missouri for a “Branson Show Extravaganza” April 3-9, 2011. The buses will leave from Big Lots in Waynesburg at 8 a.m. The price includes transportation, lodging, meals, admission to various Branson shows, and more. SPECIAL MEETING – Intermediate Unit 1’s Southwestern Local Task Force meeting will be held on Thursday, April 7 at 7 p.m. at the Greene County Career and Technology Center in Waynesburg. Speakers for the evening will be Donna Dire, Wendy Saul and Laura Walters presenting “Planning for the Future.” All parents of children with disabilities are encouraged to attend, as well as personnel from agencies in the Greene, Washington and Fayette counties. RAMP FESTIVAL – The 21st annual Mason-Dixon Ramp Festival will be held April 16-17 from 10 a.m. till 6 p.m. The event will feature food vendors, crafters, music, antique engine show, tractor and car parade on grounds, a Scotty camper display, ramp wine tasting, door prizes, raffles and more. CHILD FEST – The 17th annual Greene County Child Fest will be held at the county fairgrounds on Saturday, April 16 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This year’s event will feature the theme of “Wild Wild Greene.”
