Plans announced for Chamber dinner dance
The 65th annual Carmichaels Area Chamber of Commerce dinner dance will be held Saturday, April 16, instead of the traditional date of last Saturday in April, due to a schedule conflict at the fire hall.
Tickets will be $20 per person, and available from directors, Brodak’s Shop N Save, Yingling Insurance Agency, and at the office of Shirley Stockdale in Waynesburg.
The plans were announced during a recent Carmichaels Area Chamber of Commerce meeting.
It was also reported the King Coal Association has entered into a contract with Thomas Amusements for the carnival at the Coal Show. This carnival promises more rides than previous years.
The following reports were also issued at the meeting: the Salvation Army holiday kettle netted $3,000 last year instead of the previous report of $2,000; the annual Brodak Fly-In will be held the week of June 14 through June 16; and the Carmichaels Ministry will have a member in attendance at chamber meetings.
The Sara L. Ruth Memorial Scholarship applications are available at the Carmichaels Area High School guidance counselor office, and is open to seniors with a minimum 3.0 grade point average, and seeking higher education.
The next chamber meeting will be April 5 in the Greene Academy.
