Greene County’s Veterans Day parade in Waynesburg will begin at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 11 and will be followed by a ceremony at the Greene County Courthouse.

The parade marshals will be John and Mary Anne Cox of Carmichaels, parents of the late Army Spc. Gregory Cox, and Jim and Paulette Phillips of Spraggs, the parents of the late Marine Lance Cpl. Steven Phillips, who were killed in Iraq in 2004 and 2006, respectively.

Parade marchers will assemble on Northwest Street at 1:30 p.m.

Following the parade, a ceremony honoring all veterans will be held in front of the courthouse. The guest speaker will be David Szarell, a retired brigadier general in the Army National Guard of Pennsylvania. The honor guard from American Legion Post 330 of Waynesburg will fire a 21-gun salute in memory of fallen veterans.

All veterans are invited to Post 300 for refreshments after the ceremony.
