Norwood Lee “Woody” Glaspie, 89, of Greensboro, died Saturday, October 22, 2011, in Montrose, Colo.

He proudly served his country in World War II and received the Purple Heart.

Mr. Glaspie was a retired coal miner from Consol Coal Co.

Surviving are three children, Norwood Glaspie Jr. of Pittsburgh, Shirley Glaspie of Pittsburgh and Robert Glaspie of Montrose; a granddaughter; and a great-grandson.

Deceased is his wife, Mary J. Glaspie.
