Catholic Charities’ Greene County Office is accepting names of children for participation in the 2011 Angel Tree Project that provides Christmas gifts to county children ages 12 and under.

Local businesses, churches and organizations are also being asked to provide gifts through the program.

Children of Greene County residents are eligible if their gross family income is at or below 135 percent of the federal poverty guidelines ($30,172.50 for a family of four).

Parents or legal guardians must come into the Catholic Charities Greene County office by Oct. 31 to register their children and bring with them the following required information:

n Parent or legal guardian’s name, address and phone number;

n Proof of legal guardianship;

n Proof of gross monthly household income;

n Child’s name;

n Child’s birth certificate (age 12 or younger);

n Last four digits of the child’s Social Security number (any record to verify);

n Child’s shirt, pants and shoe sizes; and

n Two to threeWish List items — no electronic items.

The Catholic Charities Greene County Office annually provides supplemental Christmas gifts to more than 500 area children.

“At this time when the needs of our community are so great, we look forward to making the season of giving a happy one for our children,” said county director Amy Currey. “We also call on area businesses and civic groups to help make this possible and ask that they contact our office for further information.”

The Catholic Charities Greene County office is located at 72 East High Street in Waynesburg and is open weekdays from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. and closed from 12 to 1 p.m. for lunch. For more information, call 724-627-6410.
