Flenniken Library offers Preschool Story Hour

Flenniken Public Library offers Preschool Story Hour with Miss Tina for children ages three to five every Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Toddler Time, for children three years of age or younger, is held on Fridays at 10:30 a.m.

All of the programs feature Pennsylvania’s Early Learning Standards, presenting important educational concepts in entertaining ways. These programs, and outreach children’s programs to area preschools, Head Start, and schools, are funded for the 2011-2012 school year by a grant from Alpha Natural Resources.

Flenniken Public Library offers free wi-fi and computers for public use in the library.

Library hours are: Mondays, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Tuesdays, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Fridays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The library is offering free computer classes. The library now offers hands-on computer training. Since space is limited, those interested in signing up must pre-register by calling 724-966-5263, or stopping by the library. Each class meets on a Thursday for one hour, from 1 to 2 p.m.

Class topics include:

n Beginning Internet, Thursday, Oct. 20: Learn how to get online and find the information you need.

n Microsoft Word 2007, Thursday, Nov. 3: Learn how to use Word to write letters and reports.
