Patricia A. Carpenter, 55, of Waynesburg, died unexpectedly Sunday, October 9, 2011, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.

She was born March 18, 1956, in Monongahela, a daughter of Henry and Anne Zadik Bowers of Mt. Morris.

Mrs. Carpenter was a graduate of Ringgold High School and Washington Hospital School of Nursing.

On November 28, 1981, she married Herbert M. Carpenter, who survives.

She was a registered nurse and had worked at Magee-Womens Hospital, Mon Valley Hospital and as a health room assistant for Central Greene School District.

Mrs. Carpenter was a member of East View Assembly of God.

She was artistically creative, and specialized in wreath-making, floral arrangements and jewelry.

Surviving, in addition to her parents and husband, are three children, Leah Carpenter at home and Aaron Carpenter and Elizabeth Carpenter, both of Westminster, Colo.; and a sister, Judy (Stephen) Benway of Fishers, Ind.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
