Flenniken Library announces upcoming events
The Flenniken Public in Carmichaels will host a family fun night from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 31. Everyone is invited to this free event. Activities will include: face painting, pumpkin bowling, doughnut bobbing, photo opportunities, relay races, and scarecrow dressing. Hot dogs and other snacks will be provided. Weather-permitting, the relay races and pumpkin bowling will take place outdoors between 5 and 6 p.m.
The festival is the kick-off program for the K-12 tutoring program. Beginning Nov. 7, tutors will be available from 4 to 7 p.m. Mondays in all subjects. Appointments will be made upon request, but walk-ins are welcome to stop in for homework help. The tutoring program is staffed by student volunteers from Waynesburg University. Tutoring will not be provided on days that the public schools are not in session.
