TOY RUN – The Greene County chapter of ABATE will holds its annual Toy Run on
Saturday, Sept. 10. The rides starts at Waynesburg Yamaha. Registration will be held from 10:30 till 11:30 a.m.
SOCIETY MEETING – The Genealogical Society of Southwestern Pa. is meeting Sept. 10 at 2 p.m. the Citizens Library in Washington. Featured speaker will be Tom Miller, who will present the lecture “Were Your Ancestors Pioneers of Southwestern Pa.?” He will talk about the many ancestors in his family and how he traced them. DRIVING CLASS – Seniors for Safe Driving will present a safety program Sept. 15 for drivers aged 55 and older at the Greene County Education Center on Evergreene Drive in Waynesburg. No driving, no exams. Those who complete the class will receive a 5% insurance discount. BUS TRIP – St. Hugh’s Senior Activity Group is sponsoring a bus trip to Seven Springs on Wednesday, Sept. 21. Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. and a Polynesian fire show will begin at 1 p.m. There is a cost per person, which includes bus transportation, lunch, show, tax and gratuity. CASH BASH – The Humane Society of Greene County will hold a Cash Bash fundraiser to benefit the Humane Society on Sunday, Sept. 25 from 1 to 7 p.m. at the Greene County Fairgrounds. Tickets are $20 each and are available for sale at the shelter. You don’t have to be present to win and you can win more than once. Food will be available.
