Teen missing
State police are searching for 16-year-old Bobbie Jo Haring who disappeared from her home along Ridge Road in Jefferson Twp. between 12:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Sept. 5. Haring is described as a white female, about 5 feet, 5 inches tall with blond hair and blue eyes. Police said she may be traveling in a light blue Honda Accord and she may have gone to Washington, Pa. Anyone with information is asked to call state police in Waynesburg at 724-627-6151.
Driver injured
State police said Michael T. Goff, age and address not listed, was traveling on Route 18 in Freeport Twp. at 8:50 p.m. Aug. 27 when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a rock embankment. Goff suffered moderate injuries in the crash and was taken by ambulance to Hundred, W.Va., and later airlifted to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va. for treatment of injuries.
Crash reported
No students were injured in a school bus crash in Greene County on Aug. 31. State police said that there were 16 students from Bobtown Elementary School in the Southeastern Greene School District on a bus owned by Barbara Zalar when the accident occurred on Holbert’s Stretch Road in Dilliner around 3:35 p.m. Police said there were two other vehicles involved in the accident.
John Findling, no age or address listed, was driving a truck, and sustained a bump to his left knee, police said. The other car involved was a driven by John Fecsko Jr., age and address unlisted, who was not injured, police said.
The bus was being driven by Sandra Jane Riggleman, no age or address available from police.
Crash reported
State police said that there were no injuries when Tony A. Morris, 37, of Waynesburg and Holly D. Augustine, 49, of Waynesburg, collided on Porter Street in Franklin Twp. around 9 a.m. Aug. 30.
Burglary investigated
State police said that someone broke into a storage barn near the shooting range on state gamelands on Garards Fort Road in Greene Twp. and stole $900 in fertilizer between Aug. 10 and 19.
Vehicle damaged
Felicity Dawn Greenawalt of Greensboro told police that someone damaged her 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt windshield and taillight sometime between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. Sept. 3 at the Hill Top Mobile Home Park, lot 3. An investigation continues.
Women charged
Police said Sharon DeMaske, 26, and Samantha Hodgson, 22, both of Waynesburg, got into a fight in the Greene Plaza parking lot in Franklin Twp. at 3:55 p.m. Sept. 1. Both were charged with harassment and disorderly conduct, police said.
Theft reported
Robin Rae Bogus of Waynesburg told state police that sometime between 11 p.m. Sept. 5 and 6 a.m. Sept. 6 someone stole copper welding leads from her work truck while it was parked near her home on Rolling Meadows Road in Franklin Twp. The value of the stolen items was estimated at $1,200, police said.
Woman charged
State police said James Albert Lewellen, 35, of Greensboro reported that he was assaulted by Rhonda Lee Lewellen, 43, also of Greensboro, during an argument at a residence on South 88 road in Greensboro at 11 a.m. Sept. 5. Rhonda Lee Lewellen was arrested for simple assault; she was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Glenn Bates and released on $3,000 unsecured bond, police said.
Windshield damaged
State police said sometime between 11:30 and 11:45 p.m. Aug. 27 someone damaged the windshield of a vehicle belonging to Jeremy Perry of Bobtown while it was parked on Titus Road in Dunkard Twp. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact state police at 724-627-6151.
Report issued
State police in Waynesburg received reports of 726 incidents and made 46 arrests in August, according to the monthly statistics report from the station. The report includes 88 offenses reported, 87 founded offenses and 49 cleared offenses. Patrol activity included 58 crashes, two fatal crashes, six hit and run crashes, 24 injuries, nine driving under the influence of alcohol arrests, 297 traffic citations issued and 288 warnings issued.
