Nancy Hopkins Stockdale, formerly of Nineveh, died Monday, September 5, 2011, in the home of her son, Mark Stockdale of Grosse Ile, Mich., after battling a cancer-related illness for the past 11 years.

Mrs. Stockdale was born a daughter of the late John and Ruth Huffman Hopkins and had resided in Michigan for the past 40 years.

She was a 1960 graduate of West Greene High School.

Mrs. Stockdale was employed as a mail carrier in Dearborn Heights, Mich., for approximately 30 years, prior to retiring in 1998.

Surviving are three sons, Chris, husband of Lesley Stockdale of Graysville, Shawn, husband of Kay Stockdale of Uniondale and Mark, husband of Terilynn Stockdale of Grosse Ile, Mich., with whom she made her home for the past two years; a brother, Samuel, husband of Dotty Hopkins of Nineveh; and nine grandchildren.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Community Baptist Church Building Fund, 3133 Van Horn, Trenton, MI 48143.
