SPECIAL EVENTS – Center Twp. Volunteer Fire Dept. and Auxiliary will sponsor a spaghetti dinner and Chinese auction on Saturday, Sept. 24 from 4 – 7 p.m.  at the Rogersville Fire Hall. Cost is $7 for adults or $4 for children 12 and under. There will be many auction items. Carryout will be available.

CASH BASH – The Humane Society of Greene County will hold a Cash Bash fundraiser to benefit the Humane Society on Sunday, Sept. 25 from 1 to 7 p.m. at the Greene County Fairgrounds. Tickets are $20 each and are available for sale at the shelter. You don’t have to be present to win and you can win more than once. Food will be available.

PHOTO CLUB – The next meeting of the Greene County Photography Club will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 27 at the Waynesburg Bible Chapel. The club competition this month is “Fairs and Festivals.” The program will be “Scenes from Gautemala.” New members are always welcome.

BIBLE STUDY – Harmony Presbyterian Church of Wind Ridge has scheduled a six-week Bible study starting Wednesday, Sept. 28. The sessions will begin at 7 p.m. Pastor Linda Shaw will teach the class based on the gospel of John. Everyone is welcome.

SPECIAL SALE – A rummage and food sale will be held on Friday, Sept. 30 and Saturday, Oct. 1 at the First Christian Church in Carmichaels. There will be cabbage rolls, pierogies and cabbage and noodles. The church is located at 235 S. Market St. Hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, with food being sold at 11 a.m. both days.

BUS TRIP – A bus trip to Smicksburg, Pa. (Amish Country) for its Fall Festival will take place on Saturday, Oct. 1. This event is sponsored by the Center Twp Volunteer Fire Dept. PRAYER GROUP – Servant Song Ministries of Waynesburg hosts a Centering Prayer Group on the first and third Monday of each month from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The prayer group meets to continue to nurture both a relationship with God and a discipline of daily practice to foster and deepen that relationship. The group uses Fr. Thomas Keating’s book “Open Mind, Open Heart,” which is available for purchase at Servant Song. All are welcome. Call 724-852-2133 for more info.

CHURCH EVENT – Servant Song Ministries of Waynesburg will host healing prayer services each Wednesday from 9 a.m. to noon. The Rev. Peter Ostrander, an Anglican priest, will begin with a communion service bringing before God the needs of those who have sent their prayer requests or have come to Servant Song, and also those of Servant Song Ministries. Everyone is welcome. Private Christian healing prayer ministry will follow and may include laying-on-of hands or anointing in ways respectful of various Church traditions and personal boundaries.
