Juveniles suspected in Greene County arson

By Heraldstandard.Com 1 min read

State police said two Clarksville juveniles are suspected of attempting to burn down an abandoned house in Morgan Township last week.

Police said the incident occurred on March 23 when the 12-year-olds entered an abandoned house in Morgan Township owned by William Colvin of Carmichaels.

Once inside, police said the suspects lit several pieces of paper on fire, causing a wood floor to ignite. They then fled the scene.

The fire was spotted by a neighbor, who was able to retrieve a fire extinguisher and douse the fire before calling 911.

The Jefferson Township Volunteer Fire Department responded to the fire and firefighters were able to ensure that the fire had been extinguished.

Charges are pending further investigation by police.
