Ida M. Lutes
Ida M. Lutes, 71, of Canonsburg, formerly of Vestaburg and Claysville, most recently residing with her husband at The Villages in Florida, died Friday, March 30, 2012, in Donnell House, Washington, after a lengthy illness.
She was born January 18, 1941, in Vestaburg, daughter of Hershel R. and Blanche A. Kinsell Stilwell.
Mrs. Lutes was a member of the Washington Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses and was very active in its ministry.
She was a graduate of East Bethlehem High School and Waynesburg College.
Mrs. Lutes had been employed for many years as a secretary for Waynesburg University.
She enjoyed reading and listening to music. She had quite a sense of humor, which her family loved about her, and they will remember all of the great times she shared with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a joy to have in one’s life and will be sadly missed by so many.
Mrs. Lutes was formerly married to Norman Leichliter, who survives.
On May 10, 1987, she married David “Craig” Lutes, who survives along with three daughters, Deanna (Glen) Whoolery of Jefferson, Sheryl (Mark) Wahl of Portage, Mich., and Lynn (Kirk) King of Waynesburg; two brothers, Arlington “Byrd” (Elizabeth) Stilwell of Mansfield, Ohio, and Dennis (Ilene) Stilwell of Vestaburg; a sister, Lois Hudacheck of Monongahela; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a son, Thomas Leichliter, and a brother, Kenneth Stilwell.
