CRAFT BLAST – A Holiday Craft Blast will be held at the Pennsylvania Army National Guard Readiness Center in Waynesburg on Dec. 8 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The show is being held by the Nathanael Greene Historical Foundation. The event will feature refreshments, a Chinese Auction and holiday-themed music. HOLIDAY DINNER – The Graysville Volunteer Fire Company will hold their Christmas Community Covered Dish Dinner on Sunday, Dec. 9, at 6 p.m. in the fire hall. All of the community and their friends are invited to attend and bring a covered dish. Ham, buns, coffee, soda and water will be furnished. Santa Claus will visit and have gifts for children.
FLY-TYING COURSES – Starting Tuesday, Dec. 11, the Greene County Department of Recreation will kick off its series of four fly-tying courses with a class for beginners. Each of the three-week courses in the series costs $20 to attend and is limited to 20 students. Courses will be held on the upper level of the 4-H Building at the Greene County Fairgrounds. HOLIDAY PARTY – On Friday, Dec. 14, the Children’s and Family Literacy Departments at the Eva K. Bowlby Public Library in Waynesburg will be hosting a very special After Hours Christmas Pajama Party. Join the library from 4 to 8 p.m. for a viewing of a holiday movie, along with warm cookies and milk, along with games, seasonal crafts and activities. SKATING EVENT – The Greene County Department of Recreation will ring in the New Year with the fifth annual “All Night Skate,” beginning at 10 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, Monday, Dec. 31, at Mon View Roller Rink in Greensboro. Sponsored by the Greene County Commissioners, First Federal Savings and Loan of Greene County and Waynesburg Rent-A-Center, the skate will last until 6 a.m. on New Year’s Day, Tuesday, Jan. 1.
