Woman struck

Southwest Regional police are investigating a retail theft incident in which the manager of the BFS Truck Stop in Mt. Morris was struck by a car with people inside who were fleeing after the theft at 11:08 a.m. Jan. 29.

Police said manager Christine Rochester, 42, of Waynesburg was struck by a maroon, 1990s two-door Honda Civic when the two people inside fled the scene.

Police said those involved were a white man between 18 and 21 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 135 pounds, with short dark hair and a white woman between 18 and 21 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing about 110 pounds, with long curly blond hair.

The woman allegedly stole two candy bars, a pint of chocolate milk, and a cheese and beef stick and then fled.

The man was driving the vehicle that struck Rochester, police said. The vehicle had the Honda “H” symbol missing from the hood and it was last seen heading toward the Bobtown area.

Anyone with information about the vehicle or occupants is asked to call police at 724-929-8484.

Pipe stolen

Southwest Regional police are investigating the theft of metal pipe from 258 Little Shannon Run Road on Jan. 23. Police said someone in a gray Chevrolet pickup, model year 1978 to 1983, with a roll bar in the bed, stole the pipe owned by Mark Kiger of Waynesburg. The truck has a partial Pennsylvania license plate of 1210, police said.

Crash reported

No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident on Miller Lane at the intersection with Route 21 in Franklin Twp. at 8:47 a.m. Jan. 26, state police said. Police said vehicles driven by Adam M. Barger, 32, of Morgantown, W.Va. and Chad A. Ruse, 38, of Carmichaels were involved in the accident.

Copper stolen

Copper welding leads were cut and taken from a vehicle at the Holiday Motel parking lot on East High Street in Franklin Twp. between 9 p.m. Jan. 25 and 5 p.m. Jan. 26, state police said. The owner is Donald Ray Pits, 39, of Hanoverton, Ohio.

Vehicles vandalized

State police are investigating an incident in which vehicles at 421/425 Waterdam Rd. in Franklin Twp. were damaged sometime between 5 p.m. Jan. 26 and 8 a.m. Jan. 27. A vehicle owned by David Higginbotham of Waynesburg was spray painted and scratched and a vehicle owned by Tara Smith of Waynesburg was spray painted.

Vehicle damaged

State police said sometime between 6:30 p.m. Jan. 22 and 8:30 a.m. Jan. 23 someone damaged a 2004 Honda Civic belonging to Robert Lee Umble of New Freeport while it was parked at the bottom of a driveway on Pine Bank Road in Gilmore Twp.

Theft reported

State police said three unknown white males arrived at James Henry Cole’s residence on Dunn Station Road in Washington Twp. at 2:17 p.m. Jan. 27 and began loading items in a truck. Two neighbors arrived and confronted the males about taking the items and the suspects they fled the scene in their truck with the stolen items, striking a vehicle trailer in the process, police said. An investigation is ongoing.
