Greene County Young Life to host all-nighter
Greene County Young Life is set to host an all-nighter for high school students in the area. The event will take place March 16-17 from approximately 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. at the Nineveh Center in the West Greene School District.
Young Life leaders from Waynesburg University and the community are busy planning games and activities to make the night memorable for all the students. Along with the games, “a ton” of food will be provided, according to Young Life leader Amy Morgan.
“We’ll get a lot of the kids at the all-nighter who don’t show up at any of our other Young Life events,” Morgan said. “So this is the one and only chance we get to share who God is with them.”
An important aspect of the night’s events is Club, which happens around 11 p.m. and lasts 30 to 45 minutes. Club includes plenty of songs, skits and one of the leaders’ testimonies.
“The most important part of the night is Club because when someone shares their testimony, they talk a little bit about Jesus,” Morgan said. “Typically, that’s where you tell the story of the cross, where this is what God did for me and for you.”
Morgan also stressed the importance of promoting Young Life’s summer camps at the all-nighter. The camps serve as a resort, so leaders hope students take advantage of that opportunity and hopefully hear the story of Christ in process.
