PennDOT outlines Greene County projects
WAYNESBURG — State Department of Transportation (PennDOT) officials on Thursday outlined $45.8 million in road and bridge projects planned for Greene County this year.
Administrators from PennDOT District 12, which encompasses Fayette, Greene, Washington and Westmoreland counties, reviewed the construction projects before an audience of county municipal officials in the first of four outreach meetings that will be held in each county.
Three of the projects will cost more than $10 million each and are scheduled to be completed this year including the $10.5-million replacement of the Ten Mile Creek Bridge, which carries Route 88 over Ten Mile Creek, in Jefferson Township at the Washington County border. The old bridge was imploded and removed last year and the contractor is due to complete the new bridge by May 11.
