Violet V. Clancy
Violet V. Clancy, 88, of Athens, Ga., formerly of Liberty Borough and Waynesburg, died Tuesday, March 6, 2012, in Silverleaf Assisted Living, Athens.
She was born December 13, 1923, in Cassville, W.Va., daughter of the late William John and Margaret French Branch.
Mrs. Clancy, along with her late husband Robert W. Clancy, owned and operated the former Clancy’s Jewlery Store in Clairton and Glassport.
She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Waynesburg and a former member of Church of God of Prophecy in New Eagle.
Mrs. Clancy was recognized by a lifetime of hard work and service to her family, church and local community.
Surviving are four sons, Steven (Vicki) Clancy of Baltimore, Md., Donald (Diana) Clancy of Lubbock, Texas, Kerry Dennis Clancy of Lakewood, Calif., and David (Elisabeth) Clancy of Jacksonville, Fla.; a daughter, Laura-Lee (David) Kelley of Waynesburg; two brothers, Charles Branch of Elyria, Ohio, and Joseph Branch of Blaine, Tenn.; a sister, Rose Popp of Finleyville; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her husband, are a son, Robert W. Clancy Jr.; five brothers, Walter, Ralph, John, Arthur and William Branch; and three sisters, Helen Jones, LaVerne Conti and Olive Marie Hartman.
