Assault reported
State police said Kyle Conrad Weyand, 19, of Ohio reported that he was in the parking lot of Walgreens in Waynesburg around 9 p.m. March 16 when a man assaulted him. Weyand told police he got into a fight with the man in traffic and the man followed him into the store parking lot and punched him in the face. The unknown suspect was described as a white male about 5 feet-10 inches tall and weighing approximately 190 pounds.
Man charged
State police said Adam Murray Basinger, 30, of Jefferson was charged with simple assault and harassment after he allegedly got into a fight with Heather Hughes, 24, of Nemacolin at a residence on Pine Street in Jefferson at 4:55 a.m. March 17.
Burglary reported
Joseph Haragos Jr. of Holbrook told state police that sometime between 6 p.m. Feb. 6 and 11 a.m. Feb. 7 someone broke into his residence on Blockhouse Road in Gilmore Twp. and stole numerous hunting-related items, two muzzle loaders and two crossbows.
Fraud investigated
State police said someone fraudulently attempted to use the identity of Chad Ludrosky, 35, of Rices Landing, to obtain unemployment from the state Department of Labor in 2009 and 2010.
Man charged
State police said Carl Huffman, 71, of Waynesburg was charged with indecent assault and corruption of minors for an incident that occurred in Franklin Twp. between Dec. 2009 and Nov. 2010.
