State police are investigating after a man was shot during a dispute in the Clarksville area Monday morning.

Police said that the man, John Good, 39 of Prosperity, was flown by medical helicopter to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va. for treatment following the shooting around 10 a.m., where he was in critical condition Monday evening.

Police were initially called to 103 Bowser Road in Morgan Township for a possible protection from abuse order violation.

When officers were responding, they learned that shots had been fired.

Upon arrival, police found Good on the side of the road in front of the home with a gunshot wound to the chest.

Police said they also had one person in custody following the shooting but have not released further details.

Jefferson Township volunteer firefighters and emergency personnel from EMS Southwest Ambulance Service were also called to the scene.

State police are continuing to investigate.
