Door damaged
Sharon Demaske of Waynesburg told police that vandals damaged a door at her residence in Franklin Twp. on April 21, state police said.
Crash reported
State police said Mark D. Reid Jr., 29, of Washington was traveling on Crabapple Road in Richhill Twp. at 12:40 a.m. April 25 when drove off of the road and into an embankment. Reid was not injured in the accident, police said.
Drill stolen
George Lemley of Prosperity told state police that sometime on April 21 someone stole a Snap-On cordless drill from his garage on Dunn Station Road in Washington Twp.
Vehicle struck
State police said an unknown object struck a passing vehicle on Interstate 79 in Perry Twp. at 5:05 p.m. April 20. No injuries were reported. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact state police at 724-627-6151.
Injury reported
State police said Travis Harshall, 21, of Graysvill ewas traveling east on Rt. 21 in Richhill Twp. at 12:30 a.m. April 21 when he lost control of his vehicle, causing it to travel off of the road and strike an embankment. The vehicle spun and turned on its side, coming to final rest in the eastbound lane, police said. Harshall was not injured, but a passenger, Frank Pikula, 51, of Graysville, was partially ejected out of the driver’s side window and trapped under the vehicle, police said. Pikula was freed by members of the Richhill twp. Fire Dept; police said he was not wearing a seat belt and sustained moderate injuries, and he was flown to Ruby memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va., for treatment of injuries.
Checkpoint results
Members of Troop B – Waynesburg’s Patrol Unit conducted a sobriety checkpoint along Rt. 21 in Franklin Twp. on April 27. The checkpoint resulted in 142 motorists contacted, two DUI arrests, 26 traffic citations, eight written warnings and two drug arrests.
Money stolen
Donald Klaar of Phillipi, W.Va. told police that money was stolen from his car while it was parked at a business on West High St. in Franklin Twp. between 5:30 p.m. April 27 and 5:30 p.m. April 28, state police said.
Copper stolen
State police said copper wire owned by Emerald Resources of Waynesburg was stolen from a location on Garards Fort Road in Greene Twp. sometime between 5 a.m. and 8:24 p.m. April 28.
Man arrested
State police said Garry White, 46, of Waynesburg was arrested and charged with simple assault and terroristic threats following an altercation that occurred at a residence on Rocky Ridge Road in Whiteley Twp. at 6:45 p.m. April 29. According to police, White and Kelly A. Lewis, 29, also of Waynesburg, engaged in a verbal argument that escalated, at which point White allegedly pointed a rifle at Lewis. Following his arrest, White was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Lee Watson and was placed in Greene County Jail in lieu of $25,000 straight cash bail, police said.
