Chamber announces winner of 22nd annual scholarship
The Waynesburg Area Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Fund Committee has announced that the 22nd annual $1,500 scholarship will be presented to Lauren Fox of Waynesburg Central High School.
Fox, 18, plans to attend Belmont University to pursue a degree in exercise science this fall. She is the daughter of Tim and Mary Fox of Waynesburg.
This scholarship, the twenty-second for the Chamber, is presented each year to a Greene County senior who plans to attend a college, university or trade school. The scholarship is awarded based on grade point average and a 500-word essay.
This year, 16 applications for the scholarship were received by the Chamber. The committee had a difficult task of selecting one winner from the qualified field. The Chamber of Commerce would like to thank all who participated in the process.
The scholarship will be presented at the Chamber’s Quarterly Membership Networking Luncheon on May 23 at noon. The luncheon will be held at the First Baptist Church and is open to the public. Reservations are required and may be made by calling the Chamber office at 724-627-5926. The cost of the luncheon is $15.
