Thelma Hiller Rush, 86, of Washington, died Monday, May 7, 2012, in her home.

She was born May 14, 1925, in Waynesburg, daughter of Harold J. and Helen Porter Hiller.

A 1943 graduate of Waynesburg High School, she received her licensed practical nurse degree from Greene County Vo-Tech at age 54.

She retired from Washington County Health Center after working there for 11 years as a LPN.

Mrs. Rush had previously been a beautician at Betty Fisher’s Shop.

She was a member of Jefferson Avenue United Methodist Church.

An active member at the senior citizens center, she had formerly been a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the White Shrine.

On February 5, 1944, she married Delmont F. Rush, who survives.

Also surviving are daughter Vallie (John) Work of Cranberry Township; one granddaughter; and three great-grandchildren.
