DeWeese has been beneficial for area
As a constituent of the 50th District, I would like to remind community residents of all of the beneficial things Representative DeWeese has done for our area. During this time of conflict, it is important to reflect on his positive contributions instead of concentrating only on the negative media.
Rep. DeWeese has helped senior citizens become more active in the community by securing funding for local senior centers. He has helped to ensure adequate medical care by acquiring funding for the Mt. Morris Cornerstone Care facility. He has helped local municipalities, including Perry Township, obtain grants for various needs. He has helped citizens with disabilities by fighting for the right to public transportation for the disabled. He is a strong proponent of public education and has lobbied in Harrisburg on behalf of our school children.
Rep. DeWeese has faithfully served the 50th District for 36 years. While I accept that someone must be held accountable for the misuse of government funds, I truly believe that Bill DeWeese is not guilty of any wrong-doing and should be judged on the merit of his own actions, not those of his subordinates. I encourage all of my fellow constituents to research Rep. DeWeese and decide for themselves whether he is worthy of their support if his appeal is successful and he is able to serve once again.
Tammy Adams,
Mt. Morris
