VETERANS’ OUTREACH – The Greene County Veterans’ Affairs office will present a veterans’ outreach initiative at the Lions Club Community Center in Clarksville on Tuesday, Oct. 9 and at the Carmichaels Senior Center on Tuesday, Oct. 23. Both will begin at 10 a.m. Make an appointment or stop by to learn about services including: Pension, compensation disability, healthcare, life insurance, funeral and burial claims, and retroactive benefits. BAND CONCERT – The Waynesburg University Symphonic Band will present their annual performance Wednesday, Oct. 10, at 5:15 p.m. The concert will be held in the Marsh Center. COLLEGIUM MUSICUM – Waynesburg University will hold the first Collegium Musicum Friday, Oct. 12, at 4 p.m. The presentations will be held in the Marsh Center. Admission is free, and the public is cordially invited to attend. Students majoring in music ministry and arts administration (music) as well as music minors will showcase the musical skills and knowledge they have acquired during their time in the program. HARVEST FESTIVAL – The 41st Annual Greene County Historical Society Harvest Festival will be held Oct. 13 and 14 at the Greene County Historical Museum in Waynesburg. Area crafters and artisans will be conducting demonstrations and will have items available for purchase. Witness Civil War re-enactors and living history demonstrations. ANNUAL HIKE – The Mason-Dixon Line 244th Anniversary Hike will be held Oct. 14 at the Mason-Dixon Historical Park in Core, W.Va. A special hike will be held at Mason-Dixon Historical Park, off Buckeye Road, near Route 7 and Core, W.Va. Participants are asked to gather by 10:45 a.m. in the parking lot at the red barn at the park for a presentation by Doug Wood of Nitro, W.Va., which will begin at 11 a.m. Pete Zapadka, founder of the Website exploretheline.com, will lead the hike and talk. AUTUMN KLASSIC – The 32nd annual Keystone Autumn Klassic will be held Oct. 20 at Woodside Farm in Waynesburg. This annual shorthorn cattle show and sale features exhibitors from all over the mid-Atlantic region.
