Gary L. Gillispie

Gary L. “Garbo” Gillispie, 52, of West Finley (Richhill Township), died unexpectedly at 1 p.m. Sunday, August 26, 2012, in Aleppo Township.

He was born February 9, 1960, in Wheeling, W.Va., son of Norma Faye Parson Gillispie Morris of Wind Ridge and the late Harry Dale Gillispie Sr.

Mr. Gillispie had been a resident of the Richhill Township area all his life.

He formerly attended Wind Ridge Christian Church and was a 1978 graduate of West Greene High School.

Mr. Gillispie enjoyed hunting and the time he was able to spend with his family and grandchildren.

He was a life member of Wind Ridge Sportsman’s Club and also a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 18 in Cameron, W.Va., and a former member of the Waynesburg Moose Lodge.

Mr. Gillispie was a former employee of Cameron Tool Co., a former ironworker and had been employed for the past several years as a well locator by Burns Drilling and Excavating of Wind Ridge.

On March 2, 1984, he married Robin Lynn Yoders, who survives.

Also surviving, in addition to his mother and wife, are three sons, Craig, husband of Caren Gillispie of Tooele, Utah, and Jerrod and Gary L. Gillispie II, both at home; daughter Cara, wife of Matt Cunningham of Wind Ridge; brother Harry Dale Gillispie Jr., husband of Marie Gillispie of Rogersville; two sisters, Renee’ Morris, companion of Daniel Karvan of Wind Ridge, and Tara, wife of Micah Hoffman of Cameron; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to his father, are a brother who died at birth and a sister, Vicky Gillispie, who died in infancy.
