COAL CENTER — The California girls were a little too deep for visiting Jefferson-Morgan and Frazier Tuesday afternoon, beating the Lady Rockets (97-43) and Lady Commodores (82-58) for a Section 6-AA sweep at home.

Frazier salvaged a split with an 82-53 win over Jefferson-Morgan.

The Lady Rockets finish the regular season with an 0-7 mark.

The Frazier girls improve to 3-6,.

The Lady Trojans go to 2-4.

“This was a nice meet. The schools have nice coaching staffs,” said California’s Darren Dillow.

“We’re still trying to figure it out,” said Jefferson-Morgan first-year coach Dave Friend. “The kids are open-minded. Numbers are up.”

The teams return to California next Thursday for the annual Section 6-AA championships.
