Civic Club selects Girl of the Month

The Carmichaels Area Women’s Civic Club selected two high school seniors, Lindsey Osborne and Nicolette Hughes, as the club’s Girl of the Month for November and December.

Osborne, daughter of Denny and Debbie Osborne of Carmichaels, was selected as Girl of the Month for November. She is vice president of the Senior Standing Committee and a member of National Honor Society, Big Brother Big Sister, Students Against Destructive Decisions, yearbook club, art club and ski club.

She was selected 2012 Homecoming Queen and selected to All-Section, All-District and All-State softball teams. She was awarded the Scholastic Art and Writing American Vision and Gold Key Awards for Photography.

She is a member of the Carmichaels First United Methodist Church, where she is active in the youth group.

She plans to attend Slippery Rock University and major in early childhood education.

Hughes, daughter of Arlene and Chuck Hughes of Carmichaels, was selected as Girl of the Month for December.

She is a member of National Honor Society, Ladies Ensemble Choir, Chorus, drama club, Students Against Destructive Decisions and student council.

She has served as an office-library aide during school hours and is a part of the Shoaf Free Methodist Youth Group. She is also a member of the Actors and Artists of Fayette County.

She plans to attend college and major in speech pathology/audiology.
