Mount Morris man to stand trial in assault on police

A Mount Morris man who police allege kicked a police officer repeatedly in a drunken altercation outside a Perry Township, Greene County, residence will stand trial.

Casey Daniel Sharratt, 20, of 466 Davistown Road was charged with burglary, aggravated assault, resisting arrest, simple assault, drunken driving and criminal mischief following the incident on Locust Avenue on Nov. 22.

Magisterial District Judge Louis Dayich held most of the charges against Sharratt for Greene County Court following a preliminary hearing on Tuesday. Dayich dismissed the burglary charge.
