Bowlby Library announces February events
The Eva K. Bowlby Public Library announced the following scheduled events for February.
n February is Love Your Library Month. You can support the library by: Considering a tax-deductible gift to your library; joining the Friends of the Library, a support group of volunteers who provide fundraising and other assistance for many libraries; and volunteering your time. The best way to support your library is to use it. Stop into the library during the month of February and check out up to 10 items with your library card. You can also pick up a Book Lover’s Bundle for only $1.
n The Bowlby Public Library is offering free S.A.T. Preparation classes to help students planning to take the S.A.T. this spring. The course consists of three Saturday sessions on Feb. 2, 9 and 16 and will cover math, language arts and writing. If you have a scientific calculator, bring it with you along with a bagged lunch. Students attending all three classes will receive a free set of Barron’s Study Guides. Pre-registration is required. n The Family Literacy Department and the Children’s Department of the Bowlby Library, invites children of all ages and their family members to a very special “Unbirthday Party,” taking place on Friday, Feb. 15 from 4 to 8 p.m. The staff will be playing traditional unbirthday party games, sharing an unbirthday cake and other snacks, and making a special unbirthday craft. Plan on joining the library this day. Pre-register your family by calling the library at 724-627-9776.
n The Children’s Department at the Bowlby Library is currently taking registration for Spring Story Times. Story times begin on March 4 and run through May 10, and are for children of all ages. For more information, call the library.
