Charles R. Harris

Charles R. “Buck” Harris, 85, of Waynesburg, died at 4:30 a.m. Saturday, October 26, 2013, at the Rolling Meadows Nursing Home in Waynesburg.

He was born Thursday, June 21, 1928 in Wayne Twp., a son of the late Riley Harris and Sally Huffman Harris.

Mr. Harris was a member of the Claughton Chapel United Methodist Church. He enjoyed farming, owning and trading horses and loved his dog. He worked for 18 years as an equipment operator for the Pennsylvania Dept. of Transportation.

He is survived by his wife, Alberta Lough Harris, whom he married on December 17, 1955.

Also surviving are three daughters, Delores (Thomas) Toland, of Waynesburg, Patty Harris, of Sacramento, California and Linda (Richard) Morris, of Waynesburg; three sons, Walter (Prudence) Harris, of Stafford, Virginia, Gary (Kim) Harris, of Waynesburg and Donald (Marcy) Harris, of Waynesburg; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one brother, Elwood “Bush” Harris, of Beaver Falls, Pa. and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are five sisters and three brothers.

Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. the time of the service on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 in the Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Inc. Daryl L. Throckmorton, Owner/Director, 197 N. Maiden St Waynesburg with Rev. Kathy Higgins officiating.

Burial will be in Claughton Chapel Cemetery.
